WeVideo is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of the new Global Student Voice Film Festival. Created by the Student Voice Foundation, this competition is a chance for students ages 5-18 to get empowered, amplify their voices and flex their creative muscles through video storytelling. Finalists will be invited to ISTE 2018 for a celebration of their hard work and a special screening event on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
The theme of the festival is “In Another’s Shoes.” Students can create an original story or produce a biographical film using the theme. Complete guidelines and rules are available here. Students who submit before the optional early deadline of February 28, 2017 will receive expert feedback on their project along with the chance to resubmit their updated work by the official deadline of Monday April 9th.
The Student Voice Foundation is a new nonprofit founded by EdTechTeam in partnership with WeVideo and ISTE. The Foundation is dedicated to amplifying student voices around the globe and strives to help every student and educator believe in the power of his or her own voice to effect change. The Global Student Voice Film Festival is the Foundation's first effort in pursuit of this goal, and has been designed to help students explore possibilities for their futures while developing and demonstrating skills that use new technologies.
This film festival is an amazing opportunity for students to show the full breadth of their creative skills. Animation, poetry, stop motion, photography, music, and so much more--imagination and ambition are the only limits. Good luck!
